Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Psychvisit – 120 Broadway, Suite D, Amityville, NY 11701
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM (with lunch from 1:00–2:00 PM)
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience

Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting providers with patient preparation, intake procedures, vitals, lab coordination, and documentation support.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; MA certification preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year of medical office or behavioral health experience

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment

  • Proficient in using electronic medical records (EHRs)

  • BLS certification preferred

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with psychiatric medications and mental health terminology

  • Experience with lab orders and specimen collection

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus


Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient check-in, including vitals (blood pressure, weight, height, temperature)

  • Collect patient history and chief complaints for provider review

  • Coordinate lab orders, collect specimens when needed, and ensure timely processing

  • Support genetic testing (e.g., GeneSight) by preparing kits and ensuring proper documentation

  • Prepare rooms for patient visits and maintain cleanliness

  • Maintain accurate records in the EHR system

  • Assist providers with administrative follow-ups and clinical workflows

  • Ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information
