Job Title: Front Desk Administrative Assistant
Location: Psychvisit – 120 Broadway, Suite D, Amityville, NY 11701
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM (1-hour lunch break from 1:00–2:00 PM) or Wednesday-Saturday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM (1-hour lunch break from 1:00–2:00 PM)
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience

Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional, highly organized Front Desk Administrative Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth patient experience, managing front desk operations, and supporting clinicians and administrative staff in maintaining efficient office flow.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a medical or behavioral health office
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
Professional appearance and demeanor
Familiarity with HIPAA and medical privacy regulations
Preferred Skills:
Experience with mental health or psychiatric practices
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Familiarity with billing codes or prior authorization processes
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients in a courteous and professional manner
Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups
Answer incoming calls and respond to voicemails and patient inquiries
Verify insurance information and collect co-pays or credit card information
Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic systems as needed
Coordinate provider schedules and room assignments
Assist with new patient onboarding and intake paperwork
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, faxes, and documents
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the reception and waiting area
